Apparently all of these plans, design notes, records of building were all in a warehouse in Maryland. They were destroyed 10 - 15 years ago. Very short term thinking on "housekeeping". Many writers/researchers were left hanging. Library of Congress or Naval museum in DC may have a record of plans.
Why are so few USN Booklet of General plans available? Are they classified? Is it a matter of money to have them scanned? I am aware of a few rather shot lists, but every ship in the navy had one. I am particularly interested in the cold war DLG/CG classes, but there are many ships I would enjoy inspecting. Thanks, John
