Sorry I didn't respond earlier. Been busy fixing bused water pipes. 1/1250 is just too small for me. Thank you anyway for the suggestion.
I was cruising the site this morning and noticed that you are looking for an Ohio Class submarine to be modeled as USS Kentucky.
I wanted to call your attention to a 1/1250 scale model of an Ohio Class boat made by Argos. It is already built, and is of very high quality, and a little over five inches long. I have one mounted in a sea base, then in a case that I purchased at Hobby Lobby. I think it is quite attractive, and would be an ideal presentation piece.
Don't know if you would be interested in something that small or something where your only effort would be in mounting, not building, but I thought I would pass along to you. The model is currently available from Chris Daley at 1250 Ships. Chris is a very good dealer, and Argos is the best in the 1250 scale business. I consider their Intrepid the best model in that scale ever manufactured. The retail price is $21 USD.
