Thanks for the reply. Actually, I live just outside Edinburgh so bravo to you for having a "Scottie", they are feisty little dogs and take nonsense from no-one.

You are better off than we are, we rarely see snowploughs on anything other than major roads. If you live in a housing estate it's out with shovels and start digging and clearing.

We live a 5-minute (dry pavement) stroll from a local park with two 1-mile loops, 8-foot wide asphalt path. Interestingly, the city plows the paths of snow for walkers / dogs-people and runners (yes, in this weather), rather promptly.

Our obsessive-compulsive Scottish Terrier MUST get a long walk daily, even in this wretched weather.

It is downright weird however, currently following the hairy lad, as the asphalt path is veritably a "trough," with snow between waist and eyeballs-height on both sides.

Over here, the UK, people complain about 30 cm of snow and -10C; that's nothing on Chicago or Texas just now. Just keep warm and safe if you can.

More than a meter...or 3+ feet of snow-ice on the ground, 'snowed last 9 days, some wind chills to -40 C or F, take your pick. 'Has not been above 32 F / 0 C in weeks, average temp has been about 0 F / -18 C and "up and down," mostly down, somewhat.

16 Feb there was 10 inches new snow and 0 F temp when we woke; by and large, life went on as usual. More snow on the way.

Many, many, many piles of snow in large parking lots bigger than inverted PT boats.

I hear you. Before moving back up north we were in the Corpus Christi area. Demo Derby on the roads Same is true up here for the 1st snow/ice and people until people get used to it again.
