Re: 6” guns on HMS Tiger, Agincourt and Warspite
According to Warship Vol.2 (nr 5) in an article by John Roberts, Tiger had 6" Mk VII on P VIII.
In Warship Vol.7 (nr 28)in a series by NJM Campbell, the Mk VII was 44.92 cal.
In Warship Vol8 (nr 29), Campbell gives the QE class - Warspite with Mk XII on P IX, and the Mk XII was 45.11 cal
So the calibre could be said to be 45 and difference in 700 scale not noticable to the naked eye
I am going to attempt to build the Combrig Tiger and ISW Agincourt somewhere in the near(?) future. MicroMaster offers the 6” guns of Warspite. They carry a slightly different number series then Tiger and Gin Palace but just how close are they?
2nd question, ships boats on capital ships of the RN during WWI, were they all basically the same?
As I know lead/ship times have become atrocious as we all try to get thru this epidemic, I’d like to clarify these things so I can get an order placed. Any and all help is much appreciated. These items do tend to stand out on a build so I’d like to get them correct or as close as possible. Much thanks for any info
