Re: Bob Cicconi's "Jean Bart"...
Hi Guys! Thanks for the nice compliments. Yes, I'm around! LOL. To Andrew-I get a pair of dividers and open them so one point is near the front of the lifeboat and one at the rear. These will be the points where I will drill a hole with a #80 drill bit. I take the dividers and mark the places where I will place the davits on the ship, that way the davits will line up with the ends of the lifeboats. I use .004 steel wire for the attaching cables from the lifeboats to the davits. I generally make them about 4/32 long. I use CA glue and attach the ends into the lifeboats. I then make sure the upper ends will attach to the davits. You have a little bit of play with the ends. I usually use a small mound of modeling clay or one of those "helping hands" to keep the lifeboat aligned correctly with the davits and put a dab of CA glue on the attachment points. I like to use .006 or .008 brass rod to apply the CA glue. If you have any other questions email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Mr. Cicconi's build are among the cleanest I've ever seen. Time after time. Well done, Bobby.
