Jef Verswyvel, former head modeler at Squadron speaks on Facebook about the closing of Squadron. Jef details the demise of the company and lays his opinion as to the blame. Knowing both people involved, I can see some bitter feelings. Take his comments with an appropriately sized grain of salt.
He mentions Chuck Hranski, the VP under Jerry Campbell. Once at a meeting of the local IPMS club, maybe about 15-20 years ago, he was asked what did he see as the most important thing in the development/improvement of the modeling hobby. I thought it would be Superglue which brought on resin models and aftermarket photoetch. In Chuck's opinion it was the internet. It allowed more people to research their subject, discuss their subject, discuss the various model options (pros & cons), and display their models for many to see and appreciate
