Used to go as a kid, when we could - much larger selection and dioramas you could look at. Lunch next door at another by-gone ...Roy Rogers. Think it was on Georgia Avenue, if I remember correct. Previous Message
I discovered that my exwife grew up 3 blocks away from the John R location. Went there a couple of times, this is where I first saw the Nichimo 1/200 Japanese destroyers and the Matchbox 1/72 Flower class, all built up and on display! They drove me carzy with their mail order, pre-internet years, in the mid 70s they showed several Russo-Japanese War ships as coming soon. I think they were supposedly from Heller, never showed untill the old Potemkin and Aurora finally showed. In High School I was in a class called DECA Distributive Clubs of America (business class) and for an assignment I had to find out what the costs were for a franchise back when they had them. Man good memories Previous Message
Odd. Been buying from them for 40 years or more. I can even remember when they had retail stores.
