Your info helps me A LOT, as far as the build I want to do is the Midway-Op..... Can I scratch those..... Sure can!!
If I can scratch-build USS MIDWAY/CORAL SEA to an 80's fit....I think I can do two (2) supports. I think that I have enuf PE for those supports also

As far as I can recell, for the longest time, it was thought there were 2 pairs of supports right up until Kaga was sunk.
After some new info was found in Japan a couple of years ago, it turns out a third pair were added up close to the bow sometime between the Pearl Harbor and Midway operations.
So...if you're okay with the Pearl Harbor version, you're good with the Hasegawa kit. If you want the Midway fit...you need to do a bit of scratch building. Previous Message
on the forecastle, you know, the ones that support the FD!
I mean, I have Seen two (2) and three (3) pairs of supports, supporting that FD, but as I look for picts, I have seen both 2 OR 3??
I'm NO expert on IJN ships, let alone their A/C carriers, could somebody help me out???
By-the-way, I have the Hasegawa kit# SL A081 in 1/700.
