Good stuff for a 13 year old before getting his drivers license. Saw this hardcover book in a downtown San Francisco bookshop c.1974 but with a different cover. Remember thinking what a huge fleet the Japanese had and that someone took the time to draw interesting pictures of everything.
Hopefully more photos will surface for such ships as Shinano and Taiho one day.

It’s a report from the Second Disarmament Bureau (formerly known as the Imperial Japanese Navy - the Army was the First Disarmament Bureau) on all of the ships in the possession of the IJN at the end of the war, including losses and missing ships (a lot of ships just disappeared from the Japanese point of view). And not just the big ships. It includes everything from battleships to yard boats and landing craft.
