Hi, no it that one, it is a standard 14m landing craft, but a "special edition" which is waterproof and collapsible somehow

Hi, i am building Aoshima 1/350 IJN Type D Submarine. but i am really confused about the whole landing craft concept. And the lack of information of these submarines.
The boats were supposed to carry two landing crafts for tranferring cargo ashore.
- So fahr so good.
But it is really difficult to learn anything about these Landing crafts, - as fahr as i can tell these were of a special collapsible tybe, which when collapsed and laying mirrored on the side, would fit into a wide slit in the deckstructure in the rear of the submarine.
But i do not know if this is a fact or these landing crafts were simply attached on top of the deck, (which for me seems very unlikely!)
This is never the less how it is shown in the Aoshima manual.
An other mystery is the strange round object below (or in fact part of) the bow of the submarine. Maybe it could have something to do with the listening device located behind?
any help would be most welcome!
