I can recommend The Naval War In The Baltic, and it is mainly text. A thorough look at a largely unexplored subject (in English, anyway) from a slightly unusual viewpoint. Previous Message
Not sure if this is just a Black Friday / Cyber Monday thing, but I've noticed the following Seaforth Kindle titles for $4.99 or less on Amazon right now:
A Shipyard at War: Unseen Photographs from John Brown's, Clydebank 1914–1918
Large Scale Warship Models: From Kits to Scratch Building
Type VII U-Boats (Shipcraft)
HMS Victory: First Rate 1765 (Seaforth Historic Ships)
Big Gun Monitors: Design, Construction, and Operations 1914-1945
Naval Weapons of World War One: Guns, Torpedoes, Mines and ASW Weapons of All Nations (An Illustrated Directory)
Iowa Class Battleships (Shipcraft)
The Ship of the Line: A History in Ship Models
Pepys's Navy: Ships, Men & Warfare, 1649–1689
The Naval War in the Baltic, 1939–1945
French Cruisers, 1922–1956
The Littorio Class: Italy's Last and Largest Battleships 1937-1948
Of course, I infinitely prefer a good hardcover if a book has lots of photographs and diagrams, but you can't beat the price!
