The UK government has just announced £16bn extra for defence over the next 4 years and the navy looks like it will be the major recipient. There's talk of 5 more frigates provisionally to be the Type 32 and both assault ships are to be retained. I doubt we'll get the full 138 F-35s that were promised but we might see 20-30 more on top of the 48 on order. So I think that both Carriers will be retained by the RN. Anyway I can't see the USN wanting to use foreign built ships partly for political reasons and partly for logistical ones.

The USN could do a deal and utilise one of the RN's QE class on an extended lease. Marines reportedly like the carriers and it would ease the UK's budget issues and maintain capacity for the USN. Previous Message

Is there any news on what the navy is going to do with the Bonhomme Richard that caught fire this summer?
