Wisconsin name still in use.
Berthed at Norfolk, VA; to become a museum-in-reserve,with the weather decks open to the public, but the ship still maintained in reserve and owned by the Navy.

Currently the navy has 47 ships using state names
Leaving with 3 names left.Wisconsin,South Carolina and Kansas. Perhaps this maybe the reason for the change. Craig Previous Message
I missed the announcement when it was made on 10/13/20. This is welcome reversion to the traditional naming convention. Naming submarines after States never made sense given the limited number of States. I don't like the current status where naming of a ship is left to the whim of a single person, even if that person is the Secretary of the Navy.
In case others missed it, the name chosen is USS Barb.
