Re: 1/72 Yamato turret a small problem
First off, I would check to se if all the holes in the stanchions are clear all the way through. Poke through with a fine sewing needle, or smallest drill bit. Glue the stanchions in place ensuring they are vertical in both planes, and the holes are all aligned. Let cure overnight. The next day either string with the fishing line, EZ-Line or large Uschi van der Rosten stretchy line, or even fine brass rod.
So I git mine today and as said in an earlier post it is very nice. However there is one small issue the railings on top of the turret. I have the old Accurate Armour 1/76 Gneisenau as the gunemplacement in Norway so I was expecting Photoetch for that, but I was hoping for plastic due to the size. What I recieved suprised me, fishing line! The verticle parts of the guard rails are plastic with very very small holes and the horizontal "parts"is a long string of fishing line.So question should i glue all of the stanchions in place first then string the lines? Interestingly the ladder is in plastic and looks very nice.
