I hope this link opens. The cutwater looks sharper when compared to other images. Therefore matches your description. Is this the new bow?

It depends on which version of the 1/700 kit you are looking at, Trumpeter apparently made an attempt to fix their 1/700 kit. I have a couple of the Hornet kits one early and one later production, the earlier kit has the original wide bow and the later one is the trimmed down version. It’s still too broad but it is an improvement.
