That is an interesting photo. At first I thought it might the Mk 31 Amry Quad. However, comparing it to photos from Tracy White's Research at Large, that doesn't appear to be the case.

The photo shows a mount which is less substantial than the Mk 31.
It would be really interesting to know more about the mount in question.

It looks like a field-mount design aboard a USN vessel -possibly aboard a transport. I think that they used aircraft-mounted.50s.
