Need flag size for my Trumpy 1/350 USS Saratoga

About 12 years ago, just as I was getting back into ship modeling, I built Trumpy's 1/350 USS Saratoga, which came with an air wing from the mid- to late 1930s. Recently I upgraded this model with a new, lighter grey paint color, 3D-modeled 8-in. gun turrets with metal barrels, Veteran resin 5-in. .25 cal guns and new black stretched sprue rigging. The original US flag decal had disintegrated, and I found that I did not have any replacements in that size--just some generic, if 48-starred, flags that are 15 mm long, which would correspond to about 17 ft. in length. It seems to me that flags flying from US aircraft carriers pre-war, and even during the war, used smaller flags, so if I were to order replacements from various online merchants, what size would be most accurate? Thanks in advance!
