Don't get the Tamiya HORNET. It is almost 50 years old. Also, the scale is 1/719.

Get the resin hull from Tom's Modelworks and add the island and armament from the the Trumpeter kit. Also, you might want to use Chicago Pianos and 20mm mounts from 3D suppliers. This will give you the makings for a nice HORNET.

i was going to get a Tamiya USS HORNET in 1:700 off of Facebook's Market Place for $15 ... but - I backed out of the deal. I decided to get a Hasegawa F-9F off Amazon, and decals for it off Ebay...

But, f I ever decide to get the HORNET, could I have it built NOT as the Dolittle Raid HORNET ... Could I have it built as the Midway HORNET?

How was she armed during that battle?
