Re: USS Sout DDG-55 after 215 days at Sea.
The raiders were regularly repainted to appear to be different ships. Not that repainting at sea could be as thorough as repainting in port, but suggests they wouldn't get too bad. But remember that the average tramp ship owner didn't spend a lot on repainting anyway.
Imagine what some of the German merchant raiders that spent 4-500 days at sea must have looked like!
Interesting reference picture because we rarely see military vessels in this kind of condition(unless they burn and sink pierside - but at least we got all the Diversity training done this month.!)
