Where did you find this?
I am sure I am speaking for all the people with an interest in HMS Lion—please scan and post those 1 June 1916 photographs because Lion is a very difficult nut to crack for its Jutland state. I have an image I bought from Mark Postlethwaite (the artist) who briefly had a service offering images of WWI RN warships. It shows Lion after the battle, in port, still in the state she was in during the battle (anti-torpedo nets, among other things), but Q turret has been removed. This is the best reference I have found for Lion’s forward superstructure on 31 May 1916.
The eccentricity of the publication data is not unusual for the period. It was scant compared to today. I suspect it was published as a memento for officers of the Battlecruiser Fleet.
