For sure, there are other state-owned museum ships, e.g. Georgios Averoff in Greece, which is very well maintained. It for sure depends, if enough funds are made available. E.g. the museum ships in Bremerhaven, Germany (Schiffahrtsmuseum) really suffer from low funding and several had been lost. In contrast, the museum ships in Wilhelmshaven (Marinemuseum) appears to be in a much better shape, but their transfer was also most recent. The recent renovation of Peking (will be a museum in Hamburg) was paid by the state and the quality appears to be impressive. Also the other museum ships in Hamburg appear to be well-maintained.
