#10 blade (Xacto or scalpel)
The blade number which Richard refers to is a number 10. I have one of those plexiglass hold downs. Can also make one out of plexiglas scraps - hey we are modelers!
Cut on a piece of glass or bathroom tile. If you use a fitting mat the edges of the cut will deform into the cut kerf
I have used a clear plexiglass tool that came with my PE folding tool from The Small Shop. It is a flat, clear plexiglass piece with one tapered edge and a small, clear rod glued to it to use as a handle. This tool is placed over the part I wish to cut out with the tapered edge right where I want to cut the tab. It's clear so I can see the part while cutting. Then I use an Xacto knife with a rounded edge and roll it over the tab making the cut. The plexi tool keeps the part from moving.
I've always struggled removing 1/700 P/E parts from the sheet they are attached to. What are some of the techniques and tools fellow modelers have had success with?
