Re: Shipping finished models
I sold several ship models to another member here a few years ago. After a disaster with the first batch, he recommended that I do the following ( all were waterline 1/700 scale). Mount the model onto a cardboard base with two or more twist ties ( bow and stern) wrapped tightly around the hull and through holes in the base. I did this and sent the rest successfully. Simply securely mount the base into the shipping box, making sure it doesnt let go when turned upside down. I used FedEx shipping with no problems.
Has anyone tried shipping a build ship model using a courier like Fed-Ex? Is it too risky? A friend of mine's father served aboard a Flower class corvette and I want to send a 350 one I'm building to her.
