Re: Flyhawk HMS Invincible 1914 Question
could kitbash an Invincible into a Indefatigable.
I wondered as they have done Aurora, Penelope and Galatea. Usually there is someone here who helps manufacturers with their kits and would know if they have been asked to research the differences between the three Invincibles, or differences over time.
I have always been fascinated by the first six battlecruisers, as I had a list of my grandfathers' ships and it includes "Indefatigable, Jan - June 1908". My interest was in error, as I later found the battlecruiser was not even built then and he must have been on the Apollo class cruiser of 1891, re-named Melpomene in 1910 so the BC could have her name Invincible! That would make sense as his previous ship was the Hampshire and his next the Grafton, both also cruisers. Alas my discovery was too late, I had already been hooked by the "Greyhounds of the Seas".
I am thinking it might be no bad thing to invest in 2 more Invincibles just in case, as I don't think the differences were great and it would be too bad for the Invincible to sell out and the others never arrive.
They issued the Derfflinger but no Lutzow or Hindenburg so I would not hold my breath waiting for others of the class.
Hi does anyone know if Flyhawk plan to issue Inflexible and Indomitable, and if so when? Or should I be buying 3 Invincible kits???
