Re: Misleading advertisment? Very Fire USS New Jersey kit
Well, NJ received her new bridge in a June 1945 refit and made it back to the Pacific before the end of the war so this configuration is also correct for WWII. There is always the Model Monkey Bridge if you want an earlier look.
I have been looking to build NJ in her WWII fit and in the past have settled for the Tamiya Missouri kit as a start point. I was excited when I saw that Very Fire/Blue Ridge Hobbies offered a "WWII New Jersey." The ship is advertised as being in "WWII fit," however I don't believe New Jersey ever saw combat in this fit as she arrived back in the Pacific Theatre after both atomic bombs had actually been dropped. The kit is more representative of the Korean War fit for NJ. For a true WWII NJ, there should be a round bridge without the large antenna on the aft stack.
Keep this in mind before your purchase.
