upper deck battery
I have run across this issue when scratch building similar models. The builder is faced with a dilemma when photos, plans or drawings do not show where or what kind of posts are used to support the deck. Rather than faking it, Combrig may have elected to use solid resin.
I noticed that the enclosures for the upper deck battery amidships are depicted as solid structures. If I'm not mistaken, on the real ship it was simply roofed over and open on the backside. I know that was the case for contemporary battleships. Maybe not a huge deal but a little bit disappointing - I always thought that was a notable detail in ships of this era.
Another informative review from Steve Backer, including fascinating history (including new information about the ships in the class) and a thorough view of what the kit contains so that a prospective buyer can see exactly what he is buying.
