what size deck are you talking about as my father used to be a boat refinisher both fiberglass & wood?
David missed the "what-if" era Chris and I were playing with, wondering if a wood planked deck could be done with such skill today. So yesteryears restrictions on aluminum would be a moot point.
PT 8 was built prior to the start of the war, in 1940 if I recall correctly. There were no wartime restrictions on aluminum at that time.
won't be aluminum decked as the aluminum is for aircraft priority.
Yep. Good question, especially for a mass produced rush order! Although it would likely be aluminum decked, not mahogany, like one of the PT-8's was. I read that it was like an oven belowdecks when in the sun and too hot to touch.
Wonder if we can do the same today?
