Re: Colourcoats thinner
Thanks James. Impressive LCVP
This appears to work. It dries slower than our thinner (which you'd expect, since Levelling Thinner has retarders in it to slow down drying - something necessary with some acrylics which dry in-flight giving a coarse finish).
I did have a disaster using this as a test on a cheap model however when I went to apply an oil wash - something I've done countless times using our own thinners. The Colourcoats all peeled away where I'd thinned it with Mr Levelling Thinner.
Before oil wash:
After oil wash:
It was only the one paint colour I'd thinned with levelling thinner and the rest stayed intact. Just something to watch out for if using Levelling Thinners with it.
I've been very pleased cutting Colourcoats with Mr. Leveling Thinner for about the past 10 years. Just the right drying speed and dissolves the paint beautifully. Good tough finish and I have never had an issue with paint pulling under masks, etc.
Besides Colourcoats thinner, what other thinner works with Colourcoats enamel for airbrushing?
