You can buy cases already made, or also custom made to your order for displaying your ships. Of course, this adds expense, and pretty quickly. However, the alternative of making them yourself is not likely to be so cheap either. Mine are just out on shelves in my hobby room, and I keep the door to the room shut when I am not in it. So, you have gotten beyond the level I can help at, because I don't know how to make a case, nor mount a ship to a base. (Honestly, most mountings I see and read about seem to be screwed down to wooden bases which are then used as the bottom of the case, with the rest being glass enclosure. But, that is probably only one way to do it. Like I said, I am not much more use at this point.)
1) Start a new topic at the top of this board titled something like "Display case help, please" or the like. And explain your problem there.
2) Grandpa's Cabinets is a sponsor of this site with a link to his website on this site's Home Page. It is run by Ron Baluch, who occasionally posts here. He custom makes display cases. You will be talking money, but you will get what you pay for. Ron is an honest businessman. Here is the link to his website: https://www.grandpascabinets.com
Best of luck to you!
i have decided not to resin epoxy encapsulate my destroyer project, i will instead make a base and mount, and just cover with a glass or plexiglass case, i feel the heat from the reaction melted a few very thin parts, like the guns on the main turrets, a few other items either disappeared or i can see they actually melted and are out of shape, but the new way im thinking about may be harder, gluing glass or plexiglass together doesnt sound easy. to make a box that is to set the mounteed ship in, then if someone picks it up to look at it how can i fix the ship in place on glass bottom , its a fragile item we build i am going to try and protect it or them as best i can , but thanks for letting me rant, anybody with an idea about the subject of display very safe, i am psychic and can see the ship being dropped and shattering into trillions of pieces if not made safe and secure, dropped by me most likely
