The Polar Bear kits are extremely accurate in details, but the dark red casting resin used is a bit hard to rescribe. The Golf had a rather noticeable casting seam right down the middle of the deck and sail, so fixing it with putty and sanding took some care not to destroy details. I used Tamiya tape with a narrow gap over the seam for putty application. The Hotel II SSBN kit I have also has a similar seam.
But for many classes of Russian submarine models, Polar Bear is the only game in town. The prices are very reasonable and accuracy appears spot on. You just need to realize the kits will take a bit more work,
