It is unfortunate
The area the ship is in does not lend itself to tourism, however as someone that also works in the museum industry I completely understand. My museum is in the middle of the Hudson River (hint) and we have a mere skeleton crew operating it with virtually no guests. The combination of the pandemic and general lack of tourism has completely crippled the museum and hospitality industry and will continue to do so for at least several more months.
While it's the only thing you can do in the area, due to a lack of attendance, the USS New Jersey is sealing up today until at least the spring.
