As the ship was laid up in 1946 and converted in 55. The coversion lasted 6 weeks,so I'm going with a severely weathered deck stain blue. Black and white photos show a ratty deck. Only helos were carried at this time was was armed with 8 twin forties.
Color photos are rare for the post war escort carriers. However, if you look at post war Essex carriers, they appear to be a medium-dark grey (usually faded to light grey with worn areas of wood showing through). I would expect that sand (or similar grit material) was used in the paint for a Non skid surface.
I'm building a 1/144 Thetis Bay as LPH 6 in the late 50`s.What color would the flight deck be at this time? It still had woood planking.
