Stevens posted a request for info for Trumpeter, who was not named in their posting. They were if memory was correct the US Wholesaler for this kit. So I replied with plans I had (unclassified) since I was a plankowner on Ike. Never heard from either Stevens or Trumpeter afte sending plans to Stevens address that they provided. I did buy the kit when it was available though.
You mean the Trumpeter kit from many years ago? How would Stevens be involved?
When they were working on the 1/350 Nimitz class kit they were searching for plans. I sent them multipage plans if CVN68 class decks for free. Never go a thank you or anything for my effort. So I was not happy with that.
I am very fortunate to liv only 20 miles away from Stevens International. This hobby store opened up again on 7/2. I can not believe it took me 3 weeks to get there. Because of the Virus, they drastically redid the store to create larger aisle ways. They reduced their hours, only allow 12 people into the store at one time and request that you keep your time down to 15 minutes. I understand that they have a line out the door sometimes on weekends. The good news is that they reduced their train display and really increased there hobby supplies display. They now carry 6 full lines of paints including Humbrol and AK Interactive. They also increased display for hobby tools, sheet plastic and brass. They also increased their ship model display area from 1/3 aisle to 1/2 aisle. I was surprised to see that they had the new Trumpeter 1/350 Viribus Unitis and ZVEDA Delta IV submarine on the shelves. While not new, it was actually nice to physically see the new 1/350 Trumpeter Bismarck and USS Langley, the 1/350 Very Fine USS Salem and USS Louisiana and the 1/72 Revell PT109 kits. After not going to a hobby store for nearly 6 months, I did feel like a young boy again.
Take care, Tom Shepherd
