Any personal attack is unpleasant and can frightening, even if it's on the Interweb.
Just look at the garbage posted below on what are essentially political issues - some people feel they have the 'right' to say what they like and be as unpleasant as they choose to be because it's all anonymous. The Moderator should intevene and stop threads which contain abuse and irrelevant nonsense and bar messages from the IPAs identified.
Good luck with all of your ventures - beleive in yourself and not what idiots have to say about your work.
ps - a new thread has started on the colour of the Arizona - unbelievable!
Yes, it is true, I've bought the rights to my MAS boat book from Nimble Books, LLC, and, with the assistance of LCDR Erminio Bagnasco and his son, Stefano, I've revised the book. In fact, LCDR Bagnasco was kind enough to go through the text of the original book and corrected (in a nice, respectful and non-bashing manner) all of its errors.
Using that corrected text as a basis, I added new text (with the assistance and permission of LCDR Bagnasco), some new photos (and replacing a few as well) and new line drawings (provided by the LCDR).
I also bought back the rights to my book on PTs from Nimble Books, LLC, with the intent of revising it as I did with the MAS boat book.
That said, I am not sure that I want to do that. Why? Because those who I would need to ask to fact-check my work do not like me.
Additionally? And, honestly - I'd like to walk away from the historical research realm and concentrate on my poetry, my novels and possibly do a follow-on to my autobiography. Someone who's extremely dear to my heart wants me to do more novels. I've come to realize that she's never wrong - so - I might defer to her judgement.
The historical research realm - in my opinion - is too cut-throat for my liking, and I've seen how constructive criticisms/reviews can turn into personal attacks. I'm at a point in my life where I don't want to deal with it.
