Re: 'Greyhound' to streaming
I don't think it will be much of a loss, but it's probably better than the usual soap being sold on Apple/Amazon/Netflix/Disney and the rest - almost as laughable as fake-news on facebook/instgram & co - just more money for the tech giants with little real content
This mail is not supposed to start a rant, just read and leave alone
WWII destroyer escort movie Greyhound will not (at this stage*) be released in cinema's.
Originally slated for US release theatrically on 22nd March, COVID-19 pushed that back to 8th May and then 12th June.
Finally Sony and Columbia gave up and sold the rights to Apple TV+ for $70M who will stream it at a later date, to be set.
I don't have Apple TV+ so I'm out and I would have liked to have seen this movie on the big screen etc.
*If it is a success and really would benefit from a re-release perhaps it might be given a limited run in cinemas. My opinion but probably not.
Streaming TV is really giving 'going to the pictures' a run. What will define a future movie worthy of cinematic release?
