I am pretty sure the vibration issue with the North Carolinas was solved early on with propeller changes.
The KGV were extremely heavy in armor ships. The 14" guns were good enough for the mission. Once the bugs were worked out of the quad-14" turret the ships were extremely good. Indeed, it seems they were better high speed battleships than the North Carolina class that had a vibration issue.
Both the turret sets from Courageous and Glorious had to be modified to limit the possible flash issue if there had been hit on Vanguard .
Personally I though the Brits were smart with Vanguard . For minimal effort they made a KGV evolved ship with fair armor protection and was fast. Pity she was superfluous to the war effort.
