Re: Modeling HMAS Canberra and HMAS Australia in 1942
To date, Aoshima has issud or announced 1/700 kits for the DORSETSHIRE, NORFOLK, KENT, and CORNWALL. It is possible that Aoshima will produce the CANBERRA and AUSTRALIA, and hopefully a SUFFOLK. Aoshima has generally focused on ships sunk by the IJN. The exception is NORFOLK. Since CANBERRA was lost off Guadalcanal, the likelihood of a kit is increased. Flyhawk has announced a LONDON, but God only knows when we'll see it.
We can hope.....
I was following the fascinating discussion below about the Canberra's colors in 1942, and began wondering what are the best kits for modeling the Canberra and Australia in 1942 (I know they were different), other than the Combrig kits, which I don't like. Are any of the recent Aoshima kits convertible to Canberra or Australia in '42?
