You can try to search a font Longbeach USN and adjust the proportion.
For the hull numbers, try to search Amarillo USAF.
I don't know that there was a "specific" standard font used as such. The USN had a standard alphabet that was used.
I have posted these before, the were the spec'd lettering used in WWII by the USN. These images came from the Bath Iron Works FLETCHER CLASS Engineering Drawings DVD.
If you need better copies, PM (E-Mail) me at Modelwarships, and I'll send higher res versions.
I am looking for information on the font used for ship names at the stern when the letter are cut from metal and welded to the hyull. Does anyone know where specs can be found?
