Re: Stu Hurley's PT 195
This is a beautiful model and worthy of all the attention it can get in any venue. I spent a little time on the PT Boat Forum when I was building my 1/350 PT 34. Just enough time to benefit from the exposure, but not get irrevocably infected.
If you are really into these craft and willing to register on their site, there is a world of knowledge over there and many masterful models to see. This one is a treat for me, not only for the workmanship, but for the interesting armament array and how it is all replicated.
Thank you Mr. D for posting this here and making us aware of this fine model.
After his beautiful Italeri PT 109 build, Stu decided to create something other than that "flagship" of PT models. This is PT 195 at the time she carried a quad .50 cal. on her forward deck and 20mm's in her 2 turrets. In addition to adding details Italeri missed he also corrected any errors including the rather major surgery of adding the gentle "S" to the hull's deck sheer, and the deck camber. Well done Stu, thank you for putting your skills to work on another of my favorite naval vessels. For those also suffering from AMS, Stu, David Waples, and others from the PT Forum helped me with listing fixes and corrections for the Italeri 1/35th PT 109 kit here: http://www.pt103.com/Italeri_PT109_Kit.html
