This would be my take on larger scale 3d printing. A variation of plank on frame method where frame is 3d printed and planks need to be added by hand, either using styrene, wood, metal or paper. I made two types of deckhouses, one set where only fames are provided and second fully formed but no details so sanding and polishing is a breeze.
I printed one entire kit for myself, sort of proof of concept and it works rather nicely. I'm not sure I'm going to build it though because this is enlarged version of my 1/250 scale paper model which is under development. And that one will have to be test build most definitely. Building another one in 200 scale might be just too much for my modest resources...
So if there is anybody interested in giving it a try I'll be happy to transfer all parts for some minimum payment so at least I can get my money back. I can also provide 2d formers for hull and superstructures that can be printed on paper and than transfer onto other media.
