Hi, Yes I should have been more specific. I am looking for the hull number (#14) and the name to put on the stern (Manchester) I did see the Hawk Graphics and should work. I also like your idea of making the name out of other names. I am surprised there isn't a modern U.S.Navy number and letter decal set. I primarily model military aircraft but do like ships as a change. I attended the commissioning of the USS Manchester and wanted to make a model.
I would assume the kit would have much of what you'd need, like the flight deck markings, etc. I am then guessing what would be most needed would be a lo viz hull number set? 1/350 was never my scale, but a search for lo viz numbers got me Hawk Graphics: http://www.hawk-graphics.com
Set number D3507.
No idea on where/how to produce the lettering for the ship's name, nor have I made a search for that. Sorry.
You might try buying something like set number D3523, the OH Perry set, and cutting up those ship names to get the letters for Manchester. I tried that in 1/700 long ago...I hoped for "Lake Champlain" from various names I already had. I got as far as the letters "LAK" before I decided I was going mad. Applying each letter loosened those previously applied, and they would slip. 1/350 is bigger/less fiddly. You might have better results? Best of luck to you!
I am looking for 1/350 modern U.S.Navy decals to finish my Bronco 1/350 LCS model into the USS Manchester. Does anyone make aftermarket decals that would work?
