Thank you. I'm going to give Akan a try.
Try Akan paints imported by Linden Hill Imports . They have a website. They cover Russia. Akan is a russian company that produces hobby paint and covers a lot of subjects.
They have produced 6 sets of Russian naval paints. It seems because of Russia's size as a country they established fleets for their coasts and there are slight differences between the gray paints used for these fleets. These paints are
called Sharovaya followed by a number 29 to 36.
Since project your building is the Kirov. She was commissioned in 1980 and assigned to the Red Banner Northern Fleet. AKAN had a set of paint designed Northern Banner fleet, but then discontinued it replacing with set of the Barents sea fleet. These can be bought indivdually.
Russian naval information has been hard to learn about for modeling purposes . It's unknown area of interest .
Since the Kirov is your project.
I guessing your that your kit could be from Trumpeter ,Dragon or Revell Germany. If you use the painting guide and compare them to those paints perhaps you can find what you want .
Up to you.
Good morning all,
I'm building the Soviet BattleCruiser Kirov. What colors are a reasonable match for the deck and upper hull for when he was first commissioned?
