INDIVIDUALLY all Americans i have met have been great but enmass you turn into a loud obnoxious jingoistic mob!
read your own histories, why was there a tanker shortage!??? they were all at the bottom of the atlantic - sacrificed to placate the great american seaside holiday, which was ruined by all the oil on the beaches from the sunken tankers!
for Midway can you deny it was ONE INTELLIGENCE man spotting confirming that Midway was the target and one LEADER following a lucky sighting of a Japanese destroyer and one Japanese spotter/search aircraft failure that led to victory!
That's a shame bro, most of us are good, generous people.
I used to admire my US cousins, but recently I#m not so sure
It's obviously to me that there's at least 2 Brits on here who just can't stand the USA. Despite many evils perpetuated by the UK over the last century or so I still admire my British cousins.
I think FUBAR is a good description of VIRTUALLY ALL US operations for at least a year after Pearl!!...
...It's not often I run across the opportunity to bring the DP back up and out my nose, and all over the keyboard.
FUBAR indeed: 6 IJN flattops on the bottom of the sea versus 4 USN bird farms; the guts torn out of the IJN air service by the end of the Guadalcanal Campaign; the IJA served notice that stealth, trickery and spirit have little chance in the face of sustained machine gun, artillery and air support; the establishment, and benefits, of a logistical train--and the bases to mount operations from--the likes of which the Japanese Empire couldn't even begin to match.
Yep, that's FUBAR alright.
