A few very, very early LB-30 Liberators were reportedly in Hawaii early in the war and likely dropped off men and supplies at Midway, but none were present during the battle. Most were being sent via Lend-Lease to the British, but a few reportedly did make the trip out to Hawaii. Given the Chester Nimitz flew around in PBYs and the occasional Coronado likely underscores how rare they actually were.
