Maybe then I can build....
Philadelphia, to remind me, here in the west, about how good cheese steaks are at Pat's and Gino's. Have not had a good one in over thirty years.
I have not built anything from Very Fire, but from all reports they are first class, and I do not believe Blue Ridge/Free Time would associate themselves with that company if that were not the case. I will wait for Atlanta first, then who knows, but it certainly is a good time to be a ship modeler.
From a posting on the other site, Veryfire seems to be under the impression that Trumpeter is extremely close on a 1/350 Brooklyn.
This was their exact quote when someone asked them about doing one:
"I think Trumpeter has already tested and got their 1/350 USS Brooklyn kit."
So we shall see
I received an e-mail from Free Time, which I suppose a lot of people here received as well, announcing Cleveland and Des Moines, and it included a picture of the box art of Cleveland. It appears that Cleveland is depicted more mid wartime career, rather than as commissioned. That is good news as far as I am concerned for Denver and Santa Fe are the two I want to build of the round bridge sub class.
They also say that these are the first of several scheduled for 2020. One can only hope some of the ones you mentioned are among them. and that they too will provide easy conversion possibilities for others in their class
Yes, news of these new models is great, although I question the need for an imaginary USS Louisiana when there is already an imaginary USS Montana kit in this scale. More useful and appreciated would likely be a 1/350 USS Helena or St. Louis, an Omaha class light cruiser (preferably the Marblehead, as she had the most distinguished battle service), and a USS Houston.
In 2020 it appears Blue Ridge gets to sell me a Cleveland & a Des Moines .
If somebody does a Baltimore & the much rumored Atlanta then there isn't a heck of a lot left to shoot for.
Perhaps a WWI USS South Carolina class?
