It is just speculation on my part, but what may be delaying Baltimore and Pittsburgh is that Trumpeter has yet to figure out how to deal with the squared off and rounded sterns of these ships respectively, without having to mold two different hulls and two different decks, thereby adding to the expense of the whole project.
If they try to go cheap like they did with these two ships in 1/700, then as far as I am concerned they can keep their models, for I will not buy either one.
It would be nice though if one could build and collect at least one example of all the war built cruisers, and as someone on this thread mentioned CAG's CLG's and modernized Baltimore and Oregon City too. Previous Message
Hooray! If Trumpy can't spit out a 1/350 Baltimore after a decade of shilly-shallying (Can you say 'pantograph' boys and girls???) then I will be more than happy for a 1/350 Cleveland.
As they say a Cleveland in the hand is worth two Baltimores in the bush. Previous Message
