Re: No argument from me.
i know not just US but UK as well, and take advantage of it at times! when you are buying from the manufacturers shop it is always a lot cheaper, avoiding importer and shop profits means you pay about 25% of the shop price,
as for postage for at least 40 years Americans have been happy to pay large amounts to ship their purchases home, especially from Europe, the USPOST seems to have decided to increase its prices to the maximum possible and China has not gone down the same path. i am sure that a charge is made to the "shops" but at a sensible level, to encourage exports and the price includes this .
David, the Chinese are shipping items to the USA for free in many cases. Certainly it is cheaper for them to ship to us here in the USA than for us to ship to them. WHY? What would YOU do? I can buy hardware from China and have it delivered to my doorstep for less than the same item would cost me at my local store one mile away. THAT is what this is all about. This dumping on the USA market is hurting lots of small businesses. I would say more about your continual bashing of all things American but we are supposed to stay civil on this board.
AAAAH DIDUMS are the nasty Chinese working the system better than the poor Americans,
GROW UP your bankers have fouled the world up several times so tough you are now on the receiving end!
The crux of this dispute is that China wishes to remain classified as a "developing nation"
I don't know what the official definition of that is, but when a nation chooses to develop manned space flight, thermonuclear weapons and the ICBMs to deliver them on, nuclear powered warships, and numerous other advanced technologies doesn't that lift them into the "developed nation" category? Oh, and don't forget to include currency manipulation.
China is gaming the system to take advantage of both the developed nations and the third world simultaneously, IMO.
The article will now give other nations a way to counter this practice at least where advantageous postage rates are concerned, making things more expensive to import from certain countries. https://www.supplychaindive.com/news/upu-postal-rate-change/564615/
