Re: 1/700 1942 fit USS Buchanan?
Yes the DML USS BUCHANAN DD-484) and USS LANSDOWNE (DD-486) dual 1/700 scale 1945 kit #7089 has the parts to do a 1942 version. There are two hulls, one waterline and one full with enough parts to build up both hulls. Just not both as waterline or both as full hulls.
It is interesting that in early 1943, USS BUCHANAN had some mods done (adding 20-mm guns) prior to her upgrade with two twin 40-mm mounts in 1944. If you are interested in doing that version ask.
I am sure the question has been asked before (and probably answered), but I cannot remember or easily find the answer. I've been wanting to do a 1942 USS Buchanan in 1/700 scale. Which kit would be the best starting place? I know there is a 1945 Buchanan and I heard there are parts on the trees to back date the kit. Is this true?
