Re: HMS Exeter as at about 26 Feb 1942
Take a look at my 1/192 Exeter in my profile section of my site johnrhaynes.com
Can anyone please help me with detail of her light AA fit on the days just prior to her sinking on 1 Mar 1942.
From my searches she had:-
2 x Octuple pom-pom (one either side outboard near main mast)
2 x 20mm Oerliken (one on each of "B" & "X" turret, though some images have her with one or other or neither in situ)
2 x 20mm Oerliken or 2 x Quad 0.303 (outboard alongside bridge forward of her forward twin 4-inch Mark XVI gun mounts).
Various sources state that she never had any 20mm Oerlikens actually fitted due to production shortages. Wouldn't clarification make life so much easier.
