Back in 1995 or so, Lindberg released a new tool 1961 Chev and it was received by the market in the same fashion as the Trumpeter hornet.
Lindberg actually did correct the problems and re-release it. (This was before Lindberg was acquired by the other big car manufacturers.) I believe it was just before Lindberg released the big Japanese submarine that was such a mess that it was unfixable.
I am astounded that Aoshima fixed the hull for the Norfolk kit. Has this ever happened before? I cannot recall any time that a major model company fixed an error they made. Actually, now that I sit and think about it, Trumpeter fixed the hull from their Hornet before releasing the Enterprise and Yorktown. That took how many years? Any other instances?
Is it probable that this kit now shares the Norfolk hull and water line plate plus has a retooled main deck to fit the longer Norfolk hull? I assume all the other parts remain unchained from the original kit. HS has yet to post the kit contents pics,
